I think (if I am remembering correctly) they are all 10mm screws and 13mm nuts. The rear quarter pieces are attached to the panel and the rear bumper cover. The rocker piece is attached in the door jamb area and underneath with about 15 fasteners.

If you want the mounting plates for the rocker panel ground effects also, that's where things get tricky. They are spot welded to the car just beneath the doors, and you'll need about a 5/16" drill bit to drill out the spot welds. Titanium Nitride coated bits and cutting fluid are the way to go there. That's only if you need the mounting plates though.

Does anybody know if the mounting plates are differnet from 85 - 90 and 91 - 92. I have a 89 RS and wanted to change to the new style ground effects but not if I need to do welding.

I wouldn't think a person could effectivley mount these effects without the mounting plates, as I'm positive they would sag. As for the 85-90 to 91-92 difference; yes they are slightly different. The 91-92 style has a bit more of a belly to them but I don't think it makes too much difference. If the holes line up it'll work, and I've heard of folks changing over to them with no problems.
