quick question pertaining to this, Could you just take the tailight wire harness & plug it into his Formula for the correct spacing???
Tailights & tailight wire harness might do the trick. On my 83 parts car there is a plug in the rear for the tailight harness to connect to.

Pysicly speaking they fit like a glove. You have to do some rewiring or get the T/A tail light harness though.

Transmission: auto
The plug that you're looking for is on the driver side right above the wheel well--I did the same thing w/my 89 Formula--works like a charm!! Plug the T/A light harness in there and you're set!!
