Car: 87 Formula T-Top, 87 Formula HT
Engine: 5.1L TPI, 5.0L TPI
Transmission: 700R4, M5

I think it should look something similar to the TPI intake. I removed the top plastic cover and only left the metal piece that retains the air filter on my 87 Formula.

it would be a start. there are pix around here somewhere...

Car: 85 IROC-Z / 88 GTA
Engine: 403 LSx (Pending) / 355 Tuned Port
Transmission: T56 Magnum (Pending) / T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
In my old 2.8 firebird, I replaced the goofy plastic contraption that went between the Mass Airflow Sensor and the throttle body with a piece of 3" flex tubing. I paid like $6 for it at Pep Boys and cut it to length. In addition, I cut a bunch of extra holes in the airbox, and ran it (briefly) without the air filter. Holy bejusus what a difference! The car responded very, very well to the mod. I lost a lot of the improvement when I put the air filter back in, but it still helped a lot, especially in cold weather.
