Tail light conversion?

Anyone have any idea how hard it is to convert from the standard tail lights to the GTA tail lights?

I want to go from this:

to this:

------------------
1991 Firebird 5.0L TBI
K&N X-stream assembly
1.5" Flowtech Headers, 2.5" Y-pipe, Dynomax Super Converter, 2.5" Cat-back exhaust
Accel Supercoil, Accel 8.8 Wires, Accel Header Plugs

well im pretty sure the sizes wouls be the same, if you can change the old camaro tailights to the checkered tail lights then you can probably change the old TA tailight to a different kind

It's a direct bolt in.
All the bulbs connect up to the T/A lights.
Take you 15 minutes.

(JK )

ok, well, first off, take a peek at my link on bottom (better vote too)
and theres my conversion, what you have to do tho, is get another light fixture like the ones there, not the black, but the white, reason being is because the black is toooooo long so you can push the tails in...

any other Questions?

I did this same conversion in my Formula and did not change the wiring harness,if i remember right (i did it 3 years ago) all i did was cut off the two smaller bulb sockets(the ones with the small #194 bulbs) and taped em off with electrical tape, then i took nad did change the sockets for the turn signals with ones from a early (82-84 Firebird or you could get one from whatever car you get the lights from, then i moved the turn signals to the outer corners of the car.

The GTA styla taillights look much better then the Formula's i like them ALOT better on my car.
Now i just need to get my 84 rear bumper cover painted and installed so that those ugly black things will be gone at least off the back.

where in there are there 194 bulbs? from the picture, they all look like fairly normal bulbs, 1156's and 1157's.. I guess I'll just have to go buy the damn tail lights and I'll figure it out.. seems to be kinda hard to explain without having detailed pictures.. oh well.. thanks guys.

--edit--
hmm.. you mean 194's that are in the standard tail lights? it looks like there could be some in those, but in the GTA lights it all looks like bigger bulbs..
