T-Tops corrosion

My '87 Camaro T-Tops leak in several areas. Before I apply a sealant as I see some have recommended, what should I use to fill in the rust corrosion? Is there a seal or channel that I need to make sure I don't block when adding sealant? I then plan to add a new headliner with new fiberglass for about $250.

Sealants are good for a low-buck solution, but if you're going to get a new headliner and all, I would get new weatherstripping. Sealers aren't always enough, and I'd hate to ruin the new headliner.

Anybody have advice on working on the corrosion on the top of the car where the T-top sits.I have been thrown some names such as Ospho, poxy, and seam sealer. Any metal repair experts have advice or suggestions where I can read up on this??
