4thgen console and door panels
Will they fit in an 89 Camaro. If so, how hard is it? Any fabrication? Or is it a direct bolt on? Can someone send me pics if they have done it?
thanks alot

I've heard that it is harder to put a 4th gen console in a Camaro, it is a direct bolt in for the Firebird. I think it has something to do with the radio pod.
I am getting the door panels soon, I'll let everyone know how hard it was to adapt to get the door to close, you have to shave either the top of the door panel or the side of the dash cover to get clearance to close the door.
There shouldn't be any problems if you were to install a 4th gen dash, then the door panels will line up fine.![](https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif)

How can you put a 4th gen dash into our cars? The 4th gen dash appears to be much deeper than ours. Would it require cutting? I'm guessing so.

I am going to do it.......eventually.
I want the dash and door panels from a 4th gen Z28, I like them better than the Trans Am's.
I am trying to get my friends dash and door panels from him since he wrecked his 95 Z.

If your using the stock dash , be prepared to use every cuss word know to man . I tried the Z28 door panels and by the time I trimmed what I had to to get the door to shut , the panel look like an eyesore . I could not find a way to trim what needed to be trimmed and at the same keep it from looking like a hack job......more power to ya , your gonna need it !!

Nope, he still has the car at his friends shop.
90 Z28SS, how much did you have to trim?
do you have pics?
Now you have me worried, but I am still going to attempt it. I need to mount my window and door switches somewhere.
Oh, I am already using the 4th gen Camaro drivers side control panel in my third gen for the power windows. I just bought a 12x12 plate and cut a hole in it and mounted the switch panel in it and glued the trim plate to my old center console. I think I have a pic of it, let me check,
