duplicolor paint good for touch up?
i need to match some paint up on a few fixed dents on my car, does duplicolor spray paint shine like normal auto paint does? do i need to use a layer of the duplicolor clear too?

I used the duplicolor spray color and clear to repaint my three piece rear wing on my teal '91. It is not an exact match, but if you didn't know the wing was repainted you couldn't tell. I've shown it to people and they could only see the difference when I pointed it out. The slight difference in shade may be attributed to the 10 year old paint too.
However, the paint and clear themselves are NOT shiney like the factory paint. You have to put on LOTS of coats and then wet sand the color coats with increasingly fine grit sandpaper and then go over it with rubbing compound and then a scratch remover/polish like 3M 39009. When that looks good, throw on several coats of clear and wet sand and buff that out. If done properly, it should be barely noticable, if at all.
Good Luck,
Matt

You can actually skip all the work on the color part if you're going to put clear on. Just wet sand the color down to blend with some 600 grit & then clear. Sand/polish the clear per Matts instructions above. The actual color will polish out nicely (if you're wanting to skip clear) but, the clear will give it depth.
here's a small pic of my beater painted with Duplicolor, I only used rubbing compund followed with Meguires body scrub on it. It's not glass shiney but it's good enough for a beater. Smaller areas turn out better.
