LOF vs PPG Windshields. Same ?

The windshield place that is going to install my windshield says that PPG and LOF are BOTH oem on a Trans Am. Is that true ? I read somewhere that PPG was the oem and lof was not. With any luck I won't get locked here by the moderators. The windshield guy is coming out tomorrow and I need to know which glass is better. The windshield place said they were both 'very good' and both oem.

Thanks

I suppose I'm wondering if it makes any difference if I get PPG instead of LOF.

You probably would not noice the difference.

Never herd of LOF.

I know Guardian makes windshields too.

Both my 86 Camaro and my 88 IROC are LOF all the way around with the exception of the t-tops on my 86 which are PPG. The glass in my 86 is all original, not certain about the 88 (can't remember how to read the date codes off the top of my head). LOF stands for Libby Owen Ford and is original equipment on GM cars way, way back.

Both PPG & LOF are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). GM always has multiple suppliers for assembly line parts. Every single part. How stupid would it be to rely on one supplier for a part? A supply problem would shut down the assembly line.
