where to mount guages...

I just bought a few autometer 2 1/16 guages and I'm having trouble deciding where to put them. I was thinking of making a custom bracket to fit in my center console where the radio deck sits. I could then get rid of my 50lbs of sterio and have a neat custom look on the interior.
but then I would have no tunes. and it's primarily a street car.
the other option is to get one of those piller pods. but thats what all the ricers do.

any thoughts?

I have some in a custom-built pod above the radio.

I love the way the third-gen's look when you buy the mounting cups and mount them suspended from underneath the a/c vents in the center. It's probably where I'm gonna mount my gauges, but mine are mechanical and I don't know whats behind the blank panel of that dash, it's probably going to be a b*tch of a job... but if you're gauges are electrical should be simple.

I think you should invest in the A pillar gauges. I am going with them. My stock gauges seemed to stop working...so I am gonna get them...I dont know if I want to get the white faced ones or if I am gonna get the digitals. I love the way the A pillar gauges look on the t-top cars.

I mounted two Autometer gauges under the center A/C vents. Just screwed into the plastic.Actually very secure...never loosened up and don't vibrate much there either.
As they're both mechanical gauges (oil press ans water temp) ran tubing, etc, through console top and covered with split loom.
Bought individual brackets from Autometer
(not Pods) and angled both toward driver.
