White Gauges Question............

Im all set and ready to go with the "home made" white gauges from the posts. One thing not mentioned is that I have a 1989 IROC with a 110 speedo and the Images that I got for the mod goes to 140 on the speedo. Will this work with out making my 110 inacurate?
what I mean is, when IM\m going 50MPH am I really doing 40 or 60 MPH?

I feel your pain. I cannot find white faced gauges for my '83 TA anywhere. I want the home made ones with the bird in the center...Soulbounder made them and they look great. I just hope that somehow I can get them on my car.

If your gonna try different colored bulbs you would need to paint the back of the black metal part between the gauges and lens(blue colored part that the bulbs shine on to make the white numbers on the gauges kinda green/blue) white so it would show the bulb colors. or you could paint it any other color and still have clear bulbs and it would make the numbers the color that you paint it, try some neon colors they look pretty cool at night!

Fast83Camaro, You DO NOT need to paint the blue reflective color on the back of the guages. I have red bulbs in my 82, and it still has the blue on the backside of the bezel. They shine very brightly on the face of the guages, and they look good.

Gib Sandwich, I'm working on on right now. I took out my factory dual needle and started turning it white with Picture It. I'll E mail it to you when I finish it.

Sorry Man, just thought you might have to paint it, but I guess its just to help the reflectability of the light. By the way where is Valley, Alabama? I'm in Valley Head.

Fast83Camaro, I'm in Central, AL., about 18 miles from Auburn, and about 3 miles from the Ga. State line. The Chattahoochee basically runs in my back yard!! The nearest town in Ga. next to us is West Point. Where is Valley Head located??

Gib Sandwich,
My 82 Z28 dual needle speedo has white numbers on one side, and orange numbers on the other, I'm assuming yours is the same. What color do you want the numbers on the whiteface that I am making?? Also, do you want the the warning lines from 55 - 85 MPH, and 90 - 140 KPH?? And will you be retaining both the trip odometer and odometer, or just one or neither?? Give me a few details so I can make it like you want it. I also changed the fonts to the Eurostyle lettering, so it will match the tach,fuel,volt,oil press. of Mike Key's templates. 1982's had a different font than 83-up, but I am changing it to 83-up for convenience.

BlkZ28,
Sure, but I do need to know how exactly you (and Gib) would like it. I can change colors, take out odometer spaces, add chevy Bowties, or probably most any thing else pretty easily, but I just know to know the specifics. As you can see in the pics below, I opted to take out my trip odometer and odometer for a cleaner look. I also added the "BRE" logo that I put on all my custom parts and race engines. Just lemme know.

P.S. If anyone else needs a template of of the early dual needle speedo, just post your request here , or E mail me.

This is a rough sample. I can make the "kph" and the numbers on that side red, or some other color(the factory ones were orange) and you could maybe paint that side of the needle red or whatever. I can take out the odometer cutouts, trip odometer **** cut-out or bright lights cut-out.

I dunno I like mine better... this is for the v6's.

<img src= "http://www.nconnect.net/~briones/whitetachv6.jpg">

my speedo looks similar except the tripometer is deleted, and the KPH is deleted. It's not a 115 mph speedo though, it's the 145 one. have a 145 mph speedo, and it has a bowtie and the "official" C A M A R O nameplate on it. where the tripometer was. and when you turn on the brights, a Blue bowtie lights up instead of the hi-beam thing.
