painting seat belt buttons??
Hey guys I am wondering if anyone has attempted to paint the red seat belt buttons on our cars?? Mine our pink thanks to the sun. Yuck. Well I was wondering if there was any tricks or special paint to use on these? Is there anyway to take the belt recievers apart to get that red piece out?
I tryed painting them with regular spray paint but I didn't like how they turned out. Maybe I didn't put enough prep time into them..
thanks,
Bill

You might be in luck and I might have some good news for you.
There's a recall on those buckles.
Service bulletin # 90-C-22.
Call you're local dealer and ask them about this recall.
They say they will replace them for free, but you have to have them installed at the dealership.
There might be a install charge, but I'm not sure.
Either way you can get new buckles.
This applies to cars in the 84-90 years.
Worth calling the dealer about!!!
Take a look on this or other boards and you'll see a topic on seatbelt recall. should not be too far down the list, since it was talked about late last week or early this week.
Hope this helps.
