Uh oh.. gauge cluster broken?

Okay, well today I decided I would try to get my cluster out to replace the bulbs and scan in my gauges to make my own white faced gauges. When I got all the screws out to take out the cluster, I had to wrestle with it to pull it out cause of the steering wheel. Well now the needles are moved. Are they not going to work when I put it all back in or will they reset to where they were? Also, how do I get the black gauges off to scan into my PC to make my white faced ones? Thanks in advance.

If you're talking about the fuel temp & batt,, they'll stay where ever you move them but will function fine when you get it back together. I've yet to have the urge to take any gauges themselves apart so I can't help ya there.

ALRIGHT, I had this problem when writting my article, http://www.mikekey.net//fbody/whitegauges/ . I broke the speedo gauge. Its on with super glue, and I think it may be off by 3 mph under. God I hope not. Anywayz, your RPM and Oil pressure gauges may need to be reset. Its very important to stick the needle where it was when you took it off, so that it lines up right. Can not just stick it on str8 up and it will magicly float to where its suppose to be when the needle is pointing to the bottom. You'll get in big truble. My RPM and OIL gauges where a pain in the butt. Just like it says in the tech article on this website under the Tech section YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR READINGS.

If you get really screwed up and you're worried go to your GM dealership. They can fix your problem for around 50 to 80 bucks. I called cuase I think I need my speed replaced since I broke the needle.

Still My gauges look really cool. If its worth looking cool.

I haven't even taken the needles off yet. Once I do, do the black gauges just come right off?

MetalliCamaroRS, i posted a reply to u in ur other post about the white faced gauges. i will email u the templates if u want. after u remove the needles (Gently with 2 small screwdrivers), u can just pull them off. they are held on by some sticky stuff. i have a 92 rs with 110mph speedo and 5k redline tach.

Ah now I get a response! As I'm typing this, my scanner is scanning in my tach. I got the needles off no problem, but can you send me them anyway? MetalliCamaroRS@aol.com

Thanks so much.
