will gauge clusters from a late 80's camaro fit my 84?

i have a 84 Z and i want a different gauge cluster because the top speed on my set is 85 and i know the car can do better than that. Just wondering if the late 80's style would fit my 84. will i have to modify or not?

Sure will! As long as it's not 1990 and later.

What, in your opinion is the best looking camaro gauge cluster from 82-90 then?
I have an 82 and at night it's just got a cheap little lightbulb on the bottom....I'd really like a "backlight glow" kind of thing like my dad's 87 transam...can anyone post any pictures on what gauges look like that will work in daytime and night time?
Thanks

I'd say it would have to be one with a speedo at least 115. And if you like the double needle style you'll just have to deal with 85 mph. As for them other gauges your talkin about I think GM designed the speedos good so I would just leave the original kind (not original speedo) but the original kind of speedo. like a 145 mph.

From what I gather the 91-92 camaro's were the the only third gen's to get electronic instrument clusters
