black weather strip around windshiled HELP.

Where can i buy a new one.I cant seam to find one.getting a new windshield and want to replace the old one.

The molding on the replacement windshields is too wide. It is a standard size that comes pre-installed on the windshield.

they told me they could not find a part number for it and asked me to find it if i could.it is not costin me anything for the windshiled.it is being replaced by insurance compony.

If they are replacing the windshield, they should use the new style C-Style molding that sits around the edge of the windshield. The T-Style molding that was originally used tends to pull away after a while.

That is the one that does not match. It is too wide.

There were a couple different moldings for the 3rd gens. The older style is narrow and allowed for a slight gap in the top corners where you can actually see in. The newer design is wider to completely cover the edge of the windshield and the edge of the sheet metal.

When replacing my windshield, I will also be looking for the narrower molding to maintain the original look.

Do you have a pic of it? Every replacement windshield I have seen with the molding pre-installed is too wide. It would be nice to know that there is a replacement out there with the correct molding.
