Thank you. The stripes and decals belong on this car and I am happy they are there. I'm still debating the side body molding and I need to put the 5.7 TUNED PORT INJECTION emblem on the rear bumper (need to find out factory placement of emblem my original emblem had been removed).

I agree and planned on putting it back on at start of project. The body shop recommended waitng. Did all 1990 IROC-Z camaros have the side body molding from the factory? I was also wondering about the pinstriping. When I bought my car it had a silver and black pinstripe on the upper part of fender, door and quarter. Was the pinstriping factory or was it added later? Pinstripe can be seen in first couple of posts of thread.

Re: Time to paint 1990 Iroc
A few new pictures. Paint is now four months old. Hard to believe I wasn't shopping the market for one of these. This thing fell right in my lap on the cheap. I had a 4 cyl third gen camaro back in the early 90s and after being behind the wheel of that car I wanted to kill myself. It said Camaro on it so I had to have it (young and dumb). What a mistake slowest car on the road. I traded that car on a Ford and swore I would never own another Chevy. A few years later a rust bucket 71 Nova with a 350 fell in my lap and made a believer out of me running low 12's in the quarter, over 150 passes and still going strong. Then in 2009 my son comes home and says his girlfriends father is trying to get rid of a red car that had belonged to his brother that had passed away (R.I.P.). Bingo $1200 79,000 mile unmolested 1 owner (mechanic) 1990 l98 IROC. The IROC had all of its original parts with it including owners manual, owners cassette, wheel key, and bill of sale(original owner traded an 84 z28 on this thing) the only things missing were the window sticker , original tires and of course the clear coat and some paint. I'm pretty sure the original owner would be happy with the way it sits today if he could see it. He was definitely a thirdgenner for life and hung onto it until the day he died.

Nice work. And the fact it's hard top makes it all the better. I'm about to start on my g92 car this weekend

Thank you and thanks to E and B auto body. I saved a Third gen. I'd rather have the hard top car for a number of reasons. If it would have been a t-top car, it would have taken some more work and cash to bring this car back to life and may not of happened.

Re: Time to paint 1990 Iroc
The body shop did their job. The guys at the shop told me they actually enjoyed and took pride in working on this car. It took me 4 years to decide to paint, even though the "great find " and cost of car made it a no brainer.

A few more. I need to get some more/better shots. This is about all I have. Always something that needs to be done when it comes to car projects. Somehow three of them showed up at my door looking for a home. I wasn't even trying to find one when it all started 13 years ago . Never ending, work in progress

Re: Time to paint 1990 Iroc
I want to try and keep the car close to original, for as long as I can. These cars looked great from the factory. I am very satisfied with the job the body shop did and how the car sits today.

Re: Time to paint 1990 Iroc
I paid 1200 for the car 5000 for the paint job and about 2800 on miscellaneous items (tires, injectors, water pump, alternator, dash pad, weatherstripping, windshield, battery, stripe kit, etc.).
