Another Rear Hatch Alignment Problem
Well, I read all about how to align my rear hatch. My hatch, like all thirdgens, is sticking out a little bit and is not lined up correctly. But when I remove the hydraulic shocks, and then close it, it looks perfectly aligned. Why would this happen? Do the shocks push enough rearward that it causes it to mis-align? Should I buy new GM shocks?

Mine is a little misaligned too, i haven't read up what to do about it yet. I did however just purchase some strong arm brand struts for the back and they're awsome. On a hot day they build up enough gas pressure to lift the lid on their own as soon as i hit the switch or unlock it. The lifetime warranty is a plus, but look at spending $65 for the pair. I'm not sure how much Gm replacements cost. As far as their affect on the alignment, i don't think it had any, but i haven't actually paid that close of attention since its not that bad.

I replaced mine in Feb and it was fine. When I took my spoiler off, it was a little higher. When I put the spoiler back on, I think and hope it will go back to the right alignment.
