Pics of my leather 4th gen seats
I recently put these seats into my '91 Z28. They are out of a '95 Firebird. I love these seats. They are incredibly comfortable and I would rcommend anyone o get these. They have the air adjustable side bolsters and lower back support. Here's the link:

I must say, that car is looking good man. Love the tan leather. I have 4th gen seats out of a 1996 Z28. They are grey and cloth, but your are looking HOT!
Hey, I just seen you also have a gt grant aftermarket steering wheel. I had a pain in the @ss putting my wheel in, they don't make adaptor kits for ours so I had to make one out of an old kit.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes the door panels are the stock pieces of **** that came with the car. The seats went in perfectly. I just had to cut and solder the power and ground wires to make the connector work. Then I ran the factory harness that came with the seats under the carpet from the drivers seat to the passenger seat. The way these seats work is there is a mini compressor under the drivers seat that controls the air adjustable bolsters and lower back support. This compressor supplies the air for BOTH seats. So I had to run the air line from the drivers seat to the passenger seat in addition to the wire harness. I'm very pleased with these seats.

Yep I got both of them working. I was able to get the factory harness that runs from the driver seat to the passenger seat out of the donor car. So basically it was just plug it in to both seats and then hook up the power and ground and it worked flawlessly. If you don't have this harness then it's just gonna be a matter of figuring out which wire does what.

Yeah.... I have the same seats in Graphite leather. They match the interior really well. The adjustable side bolsters really keep you in place.
Enjoy!

MikeH, you need to post pics of your car...
Or just e-mail me some, I am putting together a "Top of the Line" 3rd gen site.

Yeah I would've loved to get either graphite or black seats but I found these locally and got such a great deal on them that I couldn't pass them up. I'm very pleased with them and yes those side bolsters really hold you in place when they're fully inflated.

I just put the charcoal leather seats into my car, and it's taking some getting used to. Even with the bolsters, I slide all over the place during turns. That leather is slippery! I also sit higher up and closer to the wheel now, which I don't particularly like. But overall I find myself quite comfortable in them.

Jim, those leather seats look mint, but please tell me you don't drive with your steering wheel tilted all the way up like that. makes it look like you're driving a 16 wheeler.

No! I just need to tilt it up like that so my fat *** can fit in and out of the car. That wheel looks like it came out of a trailer truck though.
I've just got too many other priorities above getting a new steering wheel.

Jim... did you hook up the power to your seats yet? Mine felt loose until I got the power hooked up. Then I was able to adjust them to fit me better.
The only thing I dont like about the seats. Is the way the shoulder belt runs across my chest now. It feels like its cutting into my neck. The new seat must have changed the location of the belt some.
Did anyone else notice this? Or is it just me?

I noticed the seatbelt thing at first but not anymore. I guess I just got used to it. If you want to hook up the power the right way, you'll need to get the factory wire harness that went with the 4th gen seats. I got it out of the car I got the seats out of. If you look under the two front seats, you'll see that each of them has a pigtail and an air tube with a plastic connector on it. Since only the drivers seat has a compressor under it, you'll obviously need a way to get air to the passenger seat. The factory harness runs under the carpet between the two seats. It has a pigtail on each side that will hook into the bottom of each seat. There is also an air tube that runs along the wire harness that connects the two air tubes from the seats together. It also has an extra pigtail on the drivers side that has only two wires. This is the power and ground that hooks up to the two wires that powered your previous seats. The connector on the new wire harness and the connector that is coming from under the carpet are different. I just got the new pigtail coming out of the carpet from the donor car (since it was wrecked and it didn't matter if I cut a connector out of the car). I cut the old connector out of my car and soldered in the new one. Now it looks and works like it did from the factory. I hope this isn't too confusing. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the install tips Steve. It wasnt until I read your post farther up. That I decided to try and hook mine up. I only have the drivers seat working right now. I tried to buy the harness and air tube you are talking about. But have had no luck as of yet. Ihe place I contacted wont sale the harness without the seats.
I need to go to the yards and find a 4th gen car and get what I need.
My car didnt come with power seats. I wonder if it would still have the connector for power underneath the carpet? I thought I read somewhere that it might. I just have it hooked to a fuse in the box right now.

Ok. Let's answer all the questions.
1. I don't like the cheap grant wheels. They're too, um, cheap. I've got an $80 grant wheel in my 86 that I could throw in there, but I don't like it's appearance and that plastic grip. I've got a momo with a suede grip in my sights.
2. I hooked up the power right away. But I'm kinda wide, so they fit snug even before I adjusted them. I do seem to slide around a lot on the leather though
3. I don't have the belt loop yet, so the seat belt rides right across my neck, just like it did with my stock seat (which also had no belt loop). That's why I've got the fuzzy thing on my seat belt.
4. I paid $400 for the two seats. They're not mint, but they're in pretty good shape. I've seen people pay more, and I've seen people pay less. I'm not unhappy with what I paid, although finding matching rear seats is becoming a major pain in the *** .
I think I answered them all.
