All I know is that it is better off looking around in the bone yards. I have been looking for a while, and cant find a decent set. I found a lady who is thinking about selling the t-tops from her '89 to me. Will they fit on my '83? I may just buy the car and use it for parts. It is an '89 Firebird V6....it has gfx, and is a nice looking car. She said that she doesnt know how long the V6 will last. Well...sry about going off topic, but they are really expensive to buy new. I called GM and the said that they were around $500-800. But that they are discontinued. Good luck finding a set. O yea, does anybody know if when you buy a weather stripping kit for t-tops, if it will replace the weather stripping on the actual t-top itself? Thanks.

if they are different, just take the mounting brackets from the newer type and put them in place of yours. You're are probably the hook type and the newer ones are probably the pin type.

You can get the replacement weather stripping from a GM dealer or from Year One. My friend just did his and its tighter than a 2 year old. He got his from GM it was a $1 less than Year one after shipping. Just make sure that wherever you get it from you get a lot a lot of adheasive remover and weather stripping adheasive because there are pionts in the stripping that without the adheasive are just large open holes!

As for the side window and t-tops if jovialevil dosen't give you a good price go to the yard and deffinatly look around. You'll fine stuff you never thought you might need. Real cheep too. I live in a high price junk zone and I had to get replacement body parts and glass awhile back for my 89 firebird and I spent only $15 on a door with the glass it in (it is a real pain in the *** to put it in and pull it) $10 on a fender and $25 yes I said $25 on the rear hatch with working defrost! Junk yards are a godsend if you don't mind matchin #'s
