hood scoop question
Ok, i thought I would try this before buying a new hood. I have a 2 inch cowl scoop that is supposed to go onto a hood.
I am assuming bondo it onto the hood right, my question is how to attach it to the hood? rivits? I don't really want them visible when painted.
And should i cut off the area around the scoop where is is just flat? Kinda hard to describe, but a picture is in the jegs catalog in the hood section.
And finally, how would i go about cutting a hole in the hood under the cowl? what tool would I use.
Thanks for any help.

These are really prone to cracking at the edges. You're supposed to rivet through the hood and cowl and then apply a good filler to cover the rivets and the crack. Ask a body shop for some stuff that will take some flex.
Cut the hole with tin snips and then use a flexible rubber sleeve to cover the edges.

SFC's, braces, arms, and a bunch more expensive stuff

hey camrs i was going through the same thing as you, so instead i bought a bolt on scoop that has a panel underneath the scoop. that way i was able to bolt the scoop on and no bolts showed. as for the hole i had a friend at a muffler shop cut the hole for me, all i did was measure the air cleaner onto the hood and he cut the hole out. then i put weatherstripping around it so no water would drop into the motor. hope this helps
