Ripped off my door handle
Living is Michigan has shown me that I need to invest in some lock de-icer. I purchased a 91 Camaro RS 1 year ago. So this is my 1st winter with it.
Long story short, my passenger door handle from the outside has not worked since I bought the car, but I ripped the driver side door handle on the outside off. The clips on the handle piece itself snapped (not a big deal to get a new handle), but the piece that the handle goes onto that is still attached to the door is broken as well.
Is there a way to remove and replace this part? I can't seem to find a replacement piece. I may be looking it up incorrectly though. I would think pulling the door panel off may show some screws for it, but before I get too far into it I thought I'd ask.
I'll post some pictures in the morning when there is some light. Thanks!

the the piece the handle pivots on? if thats what you are talking about take off the door panel have the window in the up position if you look in the door you will see 2 10mm nuts take them off an undo the clip. a new door handle should come with it

I'll post some pictures in the morning. Good to know that there are some nuts that come off and that a replacement handle should come with the piece I need.
Thanks for the replies.

Since you'll be inside the door anyway, the following link might prove useful--especially post #19:

Re: Ripped off my door handle
Thanks JamesC, few posts lower than #19 actually told me how to solve my door freezing issue - Thanks for the link.
I have asked 6 places that sell the door handle and none of them say the piece that bolts to the door comes with the handle. I don't have time to pull it off until later to see if there is a part number. Does is have a specific name so I can look it up? Posting a picture of the broken piece I need.
Here is a link to it since it does not seem to be embedding correctly - < https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...en-needed.html >

Re: Ripped off my door handle
The door handle replacement is all one piece.
You just broke the chrome piece off the rest of the assembly.
It is replaced as a whole unit.

Awesome. For some reason all of the pictures I found didn't show the 2 studs.
Got it installed on Sunday and it works great. Thanks for the help everyone
