Brighter dash lights
I found an article on the MonteSS list on
how to make your dash lights brighter. I
painted my intrument bezel(piece behind lens)
with chrom paint. I didnt use the european
lamps but used 168 bulbs instead. All I can
say is it is Bright!

That tech article was meant to be used on the gbody. I have a 442 and the dash lights came very dim in that car. I upgraded mine to the 168's and they still aren't as bright as my IROC dash. I think they were going for the luxury/subtle look on the gbody cars.

I am considering the aluminum foil idea.
I am concerned about all of the curves and such. I have fooled around with spray glue
and foil on a spare tail light housing. I
have a picture of my dash If you want to
see it.

I just installed my Gauge Overlays from the GP and my Dash Lights are soooooo dim. Yes they're installed correctly. What bulbs are everyone using? I want to keep the original color and noticed that the bulbs in there have colored rubber things over the bulbs. Would using a brighter bulb melt these? Is the 168 bulbs safe with these rubber covers?

Scott, I keep my dimmer turned down almost all the way. I love it, but my passengers think my car battery's about to die! LOL...
