How hard is it to replace power antenna mast unit??

How hard is it to replace power antenna mast unit??
I have taken off the inner fender and wheel off before but do I have to cut anything to get to it??It is a 86 IROCZ,I would love any info please !!!!!!!!!!

Mike, not to difficult, just a little tricky. Once you get the antenna assembly out, you need to drill out the rivet holes. There is either 3 or four of them, cant remember. Then carefully remove the steel side clips that hold the to motor casing halfs together. Carefully pry open the to halfs. Unhook the nylon mast cable from the drum and pull the mast out. Reverse procedure to put new mast in. Tricky part is getting the cover back on properly. I think GM sells a replacement rivet kit, however I just used some small machine screws and nuts. Well worth th time.
