91-92 Trans Am Spoiler - Mounting
I recenlty purchased the correct Spoiler for my 91 bird including the metal framing for the hatch glass, I was hoping it mounted in the same holes as the pedestal spoiler I am replacing... needless to say it doesn't. To save me a little lining up and such anybody out there have the measurements off the deck lid for the mounting holes by chance???
Thank you!
Thank you!

heres a pic of a 91 hatch panel from a formula w/ whale tail wing. i dont have a reg wing 91-92 panel to compare, they seem to be different from earlier panels.
i think you can use the shape of the panel to reference the locations, but ill try and get some exact measurements later.

Are you talking about this type of spoiler?
I have this 91 TA with the spoiler off it right now.
If this is the spoiler your'e looking to mount I can get you pics and measurements. I'm not sure what you're looking for - are you looking for the measurements for where the holes in the deck lid are for this particular style spoiler, or for a different style spoiler?

Re: 91-92 Trans Am Spoiler - Mounting
I got some some measurements. See pics for location of these dims. All measurements are center-to-center.
Deck holes are .50"
----------------------------
Deck lid. This is the original deck lid for this TA. Has not been repaired or redrilled.
Driver side:
A - 3.5"
B - 7.1875"
C - 6.75"
D - 5.125"
Pass. side:
A - 3.1875"
B - 6.875"
C - 6.875"
D - 5.1875"
E - Distance between forward holes: - 48”
F - Distance between rearward holes: 40.25”
-----------------
Spoiler. This is a GM spoiler, not from this car. Has not been altered. (Remember you are looking at the spoiler upside down – the driver side is on the RIGHT)
Pass side:
G – 3.8125”
H – 2.0”
J – 1.0”
K – 5.0”
Driver Side:
G – 3.75”
H – 2.0”
J – 1.0”
K – 5.0”
L - Distance between forward holes: - 48”
M - Distance between rearward holes: 40.125”
Notice that based on the deck hole dimensions the spoiler appears NOT to be centered on the deck.
---------------------------
Two lessons here:
1. The spoiler, being a molded part, had much better controls on manufacture than holes drilled in the deck at assembly.
2. It was not an exact science how these holes were drilled. The assembler probably slapped a template on the deck and drilled. A combination of slop in the template (wear, inaccuracy) and inattentiveness by the assembler gave some variation. Saving grace is that the spoiler bolts are 1/4 “ and the holes are ½”, giving room to adjust the spoiler.
Hope this helps. Be glad to look in detail if you need more info. (Please don’t laugh at my feet in the pic!)

To the OP
What does your hatch panel look like?
If its the same as the red one, I would forget the measurements and just use the panel cut outs as the guide.
