Hood differences 85-92 IROC/Z28

Any difference in IROC/Z28 hoods from 1985-92? I know the vents vs. blisters are not the same, I am asking if the base metal hood is the same for these years?

Yes you can use any these to bolt up the louvers or the blisters.

All hoods are not the same. I don't want to give the wrong year change but somewhere around 89-90 there was a difference. Maybe someone will chime in?

if the hood came from the factory with blisters or came with louvers, the hoods will be the same. blisters and lovers are interchangeable.
flat hoods don't sit right on tpi cars the plastic intake gets in the way a bit..... at least that's what happened when i tried it

Flat hoods work fine on all models. The B4C cars were used a flat hood and had TPI so that should change your thinking. Plus the underside of the hood is the same for the RS and the Z. The louvered/blistered hoods do not sit any higher than the RS hoods, they are the same shape.

All IROC-Z/Z28 hoods from 1985-1992 are the same exact hood.

Thank you, my hood was victimized by a hood pin installer, it will be the only non original body panel on my car since it must be replaced. Thanks.

Re: Hood differences 85-92 IROC/Z28

I have '85 and '89 Z/28s and there is definitely a big difference in the hoods. The '89s hood is better because it is much sharper in the front and fits better on both cars. The '85s hood is very blunt (almost fat) on the leading edge and doesn't seem to have good factory tolerances. I could barely bolt the '85s to the '89 because the front latch couldn't reach and it left a gap between the leading edge and front bumper...
