91 GTA L98 worth buying? (repairable)
I spotted a 91 GTA with 51000 original miles, cassette, cloth, no t-tops, drum rear. It has driver side damage to door (pushed in), back part of fender, and front part of quarter panel pushed in. Could'nt find any binds in body. Rocker panel is straight. Is this worth buying for $2900. The dash is also cracked up pretty good from the door. Also has clean title. Don't want to invest more than the car is worth to repair it.

It's a 91 GTA. It sounds like it may be a 305 TPI auto car though, since it has rear drums. Odd, but they did make those cars. Since it is a GTA, and 91 GTAs are rare... I'd grab it anyways, the speed density TPI cars are all easy to make fast, the 350s more so than the 305s.

Well $2900 seems a little steep for that amount of work needing to be done, but MrJ is right, 91-92 GTA's are kind of rare so I would try to talk the guy down a bunch and then fix it up. At the very least you could part it out if you pay less for it. In fact I would be interested in a few things.....

Aftermarket T-56 (pain in the A$S but worth it)
Lots of things to do still

Well, I just bought a '91 GTA with 57,000 mis. in almost perfect condition for 6500. Unless you're doing the body work yourself, there's no way you'll get ahead with that much work.

I decided not to buy it, but to stick the money into my camaro. Theres pictures of the GTA on the web. I'll have to find the address. Its located at Dougs Auto in Lamberton, MN. You might be able to find it under MN repairables.
