Questions about Convertables

What kind of material was Iroc convertable tops stock? Vinyl or cloth? Also How can I tell if a camaro is a true Iroc? (I'm wondering because it only has a 110 speedo) It's an 88 with a 305 TPI and a 5-speed. That was only available in the Iroc, correct? Would there be a RPO code on the console lid, i think it's B4Z or something. It Dosn't have the Iroc decal, and the hood louvers are painted white and the seller says that the car is the original color. But inside the engine bay it's a beige color. I don't think camaros came beige so I'm guessing that it just faded from white over the years. And how hard is it fix a broken covertible spoiler? The clips look broken. Another thing, how much do you think a body shop would charge for filling about a 1/2" diameter whole right behind the converable top? Lastly are 86 Z28 tailights the same as 88 Iroc tailights? I'm just trying to get a estimate on how much this is going to cost to get it in top shape. Thanks for any help you can give.

Edit: How hard is it to remove seats from one car and put them in another. I'm guessing it's 2 torx screws for the covers and then 4 bolts for the seat. A lot of people are telling me that it's a day long job just to transfer seats. Can the seat bolts be rusted.

  • Cloth tops
  • IROCs come with 305TPI and no 350s
  • Only come in white, the bay is just dirty
  • If the fiberglass is the part that is broken, get a repair kit and patch it up

RPOs
  • Look for codes LB9 and CZA_(insert either 1,2, or 3 there) and if you have them, its a true IROC convertible
  • The RPO list can be found in the center console
Hope this helps although the info I got was from my 89 convertible and the Camaro White Book.
