carbon fiber can be a bitch to work with. any sanding done to it will require recoating it to get it back to a shine. a friend of mine and I have made it before and its not too bad but like i said it can be a bitch. Two major advantages are: light as hell and strong as all hell.

in case i misunderstood and your just asking about those carbon fiber interior kits... i think that if you get the more expensive kit that actually replaces the pieces with carbon fiber instead of just putting overlays on em then you got a cool look

the overlays look like cheap stickers

it you get a chance to get some raw carbon fiber just work with a piece and see how it reacts to sanding, planing, and so on

hope i was some help

ok i just got that link to work and figured out what your about to buy.

the cloth ois just an ingredient to making the carbon fiber. Very similiar to fiberglass. The process is basic. you lay up a patter or shape and lay pieces of the fabric down and cover with resin. using the cloth by itself will get you no where without the resin. its not a bad deal for the cloth but y ou got to know what to do with it once ya get it if you want to know more just email me and ill give ya some more specific directions

Heya camaroman, your the man!
thanx fer replying, yea, what i want to do is make a one piece custom console in the middle, from the flip lid, all the way to the bottom of the gauges, so i can make it look better, and i can make it look good,
then i also want to experiment with making a overhead console that will have a couple 6 inch neons, and external controls, etc, sunglasses,
then in the rear i want to make some 6inch conversion plates for my 6x9's
and then new back interior pieces because im going to be making custom sub box, plus amp rack,

so whatcha think?

sounds like it shouldnt be too hard. just remember that the **** aint cheap so try not to mess up too much. it should look awesome when done thought if it works out post some pics and let me know

one word of caution though, carbon fiber loves jig saw blades..dulls em quicker than ****

have fun and good luck

thats a lot of carbon fiber and the great thing is that when its all done,,,,, the whole thing wont weigh half as much as the stock **** and it wont crack either

yeah you can paint it. just sand it down first. its strong for two reasons, the fibers in the fabric itself are very strong and the resin locks em all together. so no matter which way you cut the stuff you always have interlocking fibers that hold strong.

i love the stuff

hope this helps ya
