I have a 85 TA with factory recaro seats. I have some parts broken. Like the handles that lay the seats forward. GM has discontinued all the part I need. Where could I find parts at. I don't need new seats. Thanks

 

Good Luck! I tried contacting Recaro-North America and they didn't even have any info on our seats. Pretty ****ty service since they used to sell the seats aftermarket for 800-1200 bucks back in the 80's and were also used extensively on saleen mustangs. My seat releases weren't broke (Thank God!) but I did need various other small trim parts for a set I bought over the net. I ended up buying another set out of a wrecked 82 TA and getting the parts off them. The trim was all there and in better shape than mine but the fabric was shot where as mine was perfect. I now have a nearly mint set of Recaro's that I spent a ton of money on. I know that a similar variant of our seats is still sold by Recaro as the LXF (it has the same seat back). The release lever appears to be the same and if you looked at the service diagram at the GM dealer it is a very simple mechanism. One of the various Recaro dealers around the company should be able to get the parts for you. Be sure to find out how to take them apart to fix them so you don't mess anything else up which parts for may not be avialable. Recaro's are a pain in the *** but they look good. Hope this helps.
