'88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
I need the clamp that attached the rearspoiler leftside arm to the hatch.
Anybody knows where to get one?
( a picture of a good one would be nice, mine is badly corroded, I'm not sure what it should look like...!)

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
No pic, but it's the part/clamp that hold the wing's side parts, pointing foreward, there are two, left and right, as far as I'm aware of, the left one is corroded at my car.

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
Is that a fiberglass replacement spoiler??if not that hole your showing should not be there.
even if it's a fiberglass one, that hole shouldn't be there,Someone installed that incorrect.
You should have three clips on each side that the spoiler locks down on,one at the very tip,one in the middle and
one on the bottom, then you have two bolts that go through the hatch deck.

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
It's the original spoiler that came with the car in 1988....!( I own the car since 1993...)
There is no hole, ( I guess it's the black, mirror like paint that's confusing..??), but there is something rusting/growing inside that piece of the wing.

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
If you want to fix that spoiler, you will have to remove it from the car.First you remove the caps under the hatch deck, you will see bolts on both sides of the deck, remove them and push forward on the spoiler and those clips will come off with the spoiler. Then you can see what is wrong underneath. Those clips above go into a slot on the hatch under the spoiler, then the top of the clip goes into a slot that is in the spoiler.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!
(Is there a metal frame inside the spoiler?)
And are those clips still available do you think?

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
Their is metal in the spoiler, but it's in the rear section part that lays on the deck, but those clips go into small separate metal pieces along the sides.I'm on my way over to the body shop,Ill take a pic of my old spoiler(having a new fiberglass one installed)I'll get pics of the bottom to show you what's under there. And those clips in the pic are for sale, they are a SOB to find. The new spoiler doesn't use those clips.See you in a bit.

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
Hers what your spoiler looks like underneath
Their is 3 slots on each side with a metal piece, the top of the clip locks in them.
Sorry the body shop had the new spoiler on for a test fit, could't get a pic of the piece the clips slide into that is attached to the hatch.

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
Well, I finally decided to change the existing, cracked and bad looking wrap around rear spoiler on my car by a fiberglass replacement, but......
Nobody wants to ship it to Europe, I'm afraid....

Re: '88 Firebird aerowing hardware.
I'm still waiting on a shipping quote from Classic Ind.
I'm also waiting on a quote from Spohn.
Hawks doesn't ship outside the USA...
I can't find anything on Ebay either.
As the 3gen. Firebird is hardly sold in Europe, and is now a rather old car, nobody makes anything aftermarket overhere...so I'm totally depending on suppliers from the USA.
