Just a little warning
Just a little warning,
Do not forget to tell the garage/shop to “only” use the drive on lift. (4 post)
I forgot and they used the 2 post lift. Its hard enough for them to see under the car as it is but having a guy that is Chevy Certified and a boss with over 20 years experience working on Chevy's could not find the front lift spots so they used the area around the pinch weld right behind the IROC-Z badge. Crushed the under side of the car pushing out and cracking the ground affects quickly.I know it does not look like a big deal but it could have been avoided easily.
The owner gave me cash for compensation and is having it fixed.

they are standing behind their work, so despite the lapse in judgement, they are honest. Thats hard to find these days.
hope it all works out well for you

On a side note, most post lifts have adjustablility on the lift points where they will raise the lift points (pads) higher. The idea is to adjust the lift points higher and have the lift points contact the chassis before the arm contacts the ground effects.

Re: Just a little warning
it's more the fact that the car has to be raised a fair amount to get a hoist arm under the exhaust to reach the subframe. I've lifted mine on a 2 post a few times and it's a MASSIVE PITA. I recently used a drive on and my exhaust scrapped on the top of the ramp and just cleared the jacks by about half an inch.

Re: Just a little warning
The thing is that even though they have a great reputation for there work and as was already said they stand behind it.
Its a 5 bay garage with each one usually full, at least when I was there. They go through allot of cars all week. Mine may have been a fluke, but I wont be bring it there again. After all this was said and done just out of curiosity I said to him “I hope this wont effect the option of using your shop again.”He said we would have to talk about it. Like I was a inconvenience .
On a side note and just so you know, I do most of my own wrenching. I actually did the intake manifold gasket about 6 years ago.(first time going that far into a engine.)
Here's the jacking points according to Chilton.I can see were the front ones would be hard to get to. No excuse though.

Re: Just a little warning
When they use that area and crush the pinch points, the front fenders belly out also,so keep an eye out on that area also.I just had one fender replaced and the other repaired just for that reason.
