Should I buy this Junky Third Gen or let the Idea go?

Hey peeps, I haven't owned a third Gen in about 5 years... and not sure if I should give this new idea up or go for it. I already own a couple vehicles, one being a very nice Greenwood corvette with a 355, upgraded to the *****. So someone, please convince me to go for it or to forget it, cant make up my mind
Couple reasons: A month ago, I went through this old storage place I had some stuff burried in to clean it out and found lots of old third gen parts from my old camaro that i ended up selling. One of these things was a complete true dual stainless steel 2.5 inch side-pipe exhaust system with nice shorty headers and dump pipes I customized for that car. I kept the exhaust system and re-installed the old one since the car was worth less than the exhaust system itself at the time. I tried selling but no one seems interested since it kind of looks cheap and odd on these cars. Effective but weird looking.
I'm at a stage in life where if i ever buy another nice old vehicle, it'll be a car with a bigger engine than a 350. So what do I do with this thing? I searched through kijiji and found this old third gen with a bit of a different look for 550$. Interior is rough, floor pan on the drivers side is rusted, but the drivetrain is good. Pretty badass looking beat up car for 550$, or 500, lol... I was thinking of simply getting this thing to just fix it enough so it works well and have. May not have many other chances to get a car with an old style 350 for 500$.

Id give $250 for it, strip it for anything that I could sell, and then send the rest to the scrap yard.

Out here, no one would sell a car like this for 250$. The scrap yards through government programs are offering 300-400/per car, depending on the metal. The recyclable materials on old cars are worth bucks in this province. So 500$ is pretty much the minimum one would sell a car for it to be worth his/her time
