Fender year compatibility.
I know that there have been other posts in this forum regarding fender compatibility. But I think the question that I'm asking here is a little bit different. Let me explain.
I have been searching for and accumulating body parts to rebuild the front end on my daughter's 83 FB (not T/A). After searching several local salvage yards, I am finding that a passenger fender in good condition for an 82-84 FB is difficult to find. It seems like the passenger fender has a tendency to get whacked more than the driver's side. Reading a couple of posts in this forum seem to agree with that observation.
My alternative, short of buying a new 82-84 FB fender from GM is to use a later year, say 85-88, to expand my choices. My main concern is with the fit and finish especially concerning getting a tight fit with the front bumper cover with a fender from a later year.
Should I stay with 82-84 or would a fender from a later year work just as well?
Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

The difference between the 82-84 and 85-92 fender is that there is a tab where the front bumper mounts is further forward on the 82-84. If you get a 85-92 you might be able to use some sort of spacer, but I'm not sure..
