Interior trim dyeing or painting?

What would be the best way to paint my interior trim pieces black, they are currently beige. I don't want it to look cheesy or cheap....normally I wouldn't think of this but when I looked up new interior trim pieces (ie. interior rear quarter panels) they all said paint to match....does this mean I buy actual paint or interior dye? Would it work on my existing parts (ie interior rear quarter panels)? I would like this to look factory not like an idiot went wild with spray paint...

Go to the appearance section, CC HotRod posted good instructions on what you need to do. Look for painting interior panels.

I'm currently redoing my interior from the regular black to a high-gloss black. I'm just using Dupli-color vynl and fabric spray paint. It sems to work pretty good although the pieces are just sitting around right now. All you have to do is wash the surface with soapy water and scrub it good with a stiff-bristled brush (plastic not metal) or an sos pad. Let it dry completely then spray on a bonding agent (oops, forgot about taht on mine) then spray on several thin coats of the new color letting it set for at least 10 minutes between coats.

Yeah, i would go with the dye, itll stay on better than the plasticote, PO of mine did that and its got scratches all over, nice gray scratches on my black plastics. The dye would last longer and not look cheesy.
