Looking for some professional opinions.
Well, I've made it through the first week of Firebird ownership and I am in LOVE. Haven't seen the girlfriend, neglected homework, etc. It seems the more I start replacing, the more problems I find. Guess that's just a third gen though.
I wanted some opinions though, I'm not sure what direction to go with the car. As you can see, it's a '92 with an 88-89? bumper/hood. (Correct me if I'm wrong, still learning this stuff). It also has newer Formula decals (and says Formula on the title) but the spoiler isn't the Formula one. But because of the bumper, the PO took off the front fender ground effects, therefore it looks a little weird.
So my question is.. Where should I go with it? I want this car to be immaculate but not sure what to do. Should I remove all the ground effects to even it up? Try and find the fender effects (which I know is nearly impossible without shelling out cash) and find a new bumper? I just want everything to go together. I plan on painting her black when all the body stuff is worked out.
I know I have a rather odd setup but I'm very happy with the car. I've put a couple hundred miles on it and she has ran beautifully. How can you be mad when you buy a 20 year old car and the ac/heat/windshield wipers/power windows/STOCK 20 year old CD player work?
Hope someone has some opinions here to give me some ideas.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forums
It looks to be that you have about 85 bumper with the stock formula hood(Im not 100%). The powerbulge really didnt change that much through out the years. The only indication of it being off of a different car is the alignment with the head lights. So theres a good chance youre right about it. Im not 100% if its the right one thats bent or not.
Youre also right about the spoiler. The 92 formulas had more of an Aero type. But the car still looks good with it.Its the stock Firebird spoiler.
And personally i would change the bumper back to the stock bumper. It had more of a point to it that made it really look like a Phoenix. I wasnt ever a big fan of it,but if i owned the car thats what i would do. I would also put on the front ground effects as well. And if you go to your junk yard you might get lucky and find some. Also if you search on the PArts for sale part of the forums, you can find some cheap ones. I just saw the bumper you want for pretty cheap not too long ago.
This is what the car should look like
So yeah after researching, that is the wrong hood as well. Thats about an 85-89 Hood.

Dylan, thanks for the reply. That sounds like the best idea. I just didn't know how hard it was going to be to hunt some of these things down. And I do really like the late model bumpers, like the one you posted. Guess the hunt will now begin!

Hmmm, Ive always heard that the 91/92 nose is a really hard part to find in good condition. I agree that you should try to put it back to stock but Im not sure how easy its going to be to find that nose. Good luck!
