1987 Z28 possible rebuild?

Hi, im new to this site and I had a few questions.. I have a 1987 Z28 that has 70k and has had some money put in, not by me but by the previous owner. I love the car but I have run into a few snags. First, the rear sub frame apparently has a few spots of rust and needs fixing, the front floor pans are spotty, the e brake needs tightening and the reverse lights dont work either. Now I dont want to say I got a lemon, since the tranny and engine seem awesome. Its the 305 tpi and a built auto tranny with slap shift, but im starting to think im in a bit of a pickle. Now I know the e brake and lights arent a big deal to fix, but the undercarriage is what im concerned about. Would it be better to move on from this and try again or should I go for it and try to repair? Is it even worth it at this point? Also, ive been having an issue where under light throttle the car sputters, but under heavy throttle it runs fine. What could be the issue? One last thing, the guy before me had it rigged so I have to leave the battery on for a few seconds for the fuel to get in before I can turn the car over. Is that normal? When I do it the cooling fan starts blowing and my battery died in it for some reason... Im open to opinions and thoughts please. But please be kind. I appreciate it. Thanks

the rear subframe if you are willing to weld and depending on how bad it is you may be able to patch or if its that bad classic industries sells the rear subframes for 775 a side. you have to wait a couple seconds for the fuel to get to the engine its just the electric fuel pump in the tank pumping it down to the engine. the floor if its in pretty good condition you can just fiberglass it if it needs some steel get a sheet of steel i used 18 gauge and welded it over the remains of the floor then fiberglassed it with 24 ounce cloth. the reverse lights is just the switch for the reverse light wasnt hookedup when the rachet shifter was installed.

yeah those switches on the slap shifters can be a pain in the *** either staying on all the time or not lighting at all. I had a b&m and it was awesome except my reverse lights would not work some times. its only a little peg that presses the switch in reverse and the same with the neutral saftey switch

these cars are extremely easy to work on tho so basically all the things you are having problems with aren't really that bad to fix. So I would say go for it!!!
