Primering car this weekend -cold weather

Well, i am having been dedicating countless hours to bodywork for the past 8 weeks and finally have the car ready to be primered this weekend, and then painted next week. Working like a madman trying to get it painted before it gets too cold. I am not a painter but my brother has experience painting 5 cars and he will be doing the spraying.

Im in NH, the weather is going to be about 50 degrees Saturday. I will have the garage sealed off with plastic and have a 115k BTU heater to keep the room as warm as possible. I have also stripped the car down to where the only part of the car being sprayed that is actually on the car is the rear panels, engine bay, door jams, etc. Everything else i plan on bringing in the house so it will be kept warm, right up until spray time. I plan on having the heater running on the rear of the car, as well as the engine bay for an hour before spray time.

I dont like surprises and was curious to know if anyone has any input on whether my plan is going to be a problem? Any ideas on how to keep everything warm?

I took the paint down to almost bare metal so i cant sit on this much longer without running into problems. Waiting until spring is not an option.

Thanks

Make sure to use a "fast" reducer.

I agree with fast drying, make sure your reducer is compatible with the temp of your garage and you will be fine. Get some paint on it!

The primer went on great. We sealed off the entire garage to make it similar to a spray booth and the heat from the Reddy Heater kept it at about 75 in there. Block-sanding all week, then spraying paint this weekend.

how many coats of primer did you use?? did you sand in between coats?? not being a smart@$$ if thats what it sounds. i decided yesterday im going to sand and prime mine too and trying to gather all the info i can cause im tired of that about 75% peeled clear coat and super sun faded hood, roof, and hatch. ive watched youtube vids since yesterday and everyone does it different for the most part. i went out and bought 2 cans of primer lol my brother laughed and said that must be for the hood. i didnt know it took like 10+ cans!!!!!

We used two coats of high build primer and didnt sand between coats. I ended up with a pretty good amount of orange peel and alot of sanding that week. I'm not sure if sanding between coats would have reduced the total amount of sanding i had to do, but i ended up sanding for about 10 hours to get rid of the orange peel.
