Fiberglass hood trimming
Im about to trim my fiberglass hood. It has about a 1/2" lip that hangs down on the front and sides. I figured I could leave the sides alone since it should slip right down between the fenders. However the front wont allow the hood to meet the bumper cover. Does anyone have any tips for removing this lip before I start cutting?

Re: Fiberglass hood trimming
I had the same thing going on with mine. I was getting it ready for paint so I marked a line on it with pin stripe and used a belt sander to sand it down. Smoothed the edges when I was done. Looks much better. Good luck.

Did you only sand the front of the hood? Or did you trim the slides also?

Re: Fiberglass hood trimming
I did the front only, the side on mine didn't have any clearance problems so I left them. On the front I was careful not to go to thin, I am worried about the strenth of the front edge, so I left it around 1/4" to 5/16" thick and rounded the edges good to prevent splitting. I'll try to post a picture today.
