After market hood

Yeah im looking for an after market hood, but i want it to have vents for air to run thur. As most third gens i heat a heater problem, things is if my hood is poped it fixxes it. So im looking to let more air run thur in the engine bay.

You shouldn't have any overheating problems, even on a really hot day. That is indicative that something else isn't right. A hood won't cure those problems. Outside of that, it's nice to have extra hood clearance and colder air running through the intake.

Re: After market hood

I would second the hood not helping.
You can take the hood off is something is wrong with your cooling system your car will still overheat.
It will can help put cooler air into your engine though, if the car is setup properly. It can also help pull some heat out of the engine bay.

I'm partial to Summit Racing .Just scroll down the left hand side of this page and pick out whatever your looking for. I have the 2in. Goodmark Steel Cowl hood and could not be happier. Its about as heavy as a stock steel hood so if your looking for lighter you may want to look at some of there other hoods.=

Re: After market hood

idk if this will help, but ive been told by one of my performance instructors at school that if u replace the coolent with distilled water and buy an additive. that ur car will run a lil kooler, not by much, but enough to tell. idk wat the additive is called, but ppl use it for racing. im sure alot of ppl on here no wat it is.

i accually plan on putting distilled water in my car soo, cause i think my car runs a lil warm on hot days. but make sure its distilled water so it doesnt rust
