Re: COWL HOOD

well fiber glass is lighter, prob about the same price, if finished right and of good build quality as durable as steel. Id go with the fiberglass, no rust, painted looks just like steel, and is super light. My hood actualy stays up on its own.

If I were you I would replace it with an aluminum hood. Very rare, and no cowl, but its light and durable.

fiberglass usually requires work to get it right. The only company I know of that usually gets it spot on it Cervini's, and you'll pay well for their hoods. I went with steel because it's cheaper and the chances for bad fitment are minimal.

I think Glasstek sells a decent product also from what I've heard on here. Could also try them.

Re: COWL HOOD

I have a cervinis cowl hood, and by far the best hood I have ever installed. No trimming required, fitment was perfect, and weighed far less than the stock steel hood.

Heres a link to the Goodmark 2in. all steel hood at Summit Racing.= http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GM...RO&prefilter=1
I have this hood and other than the rear cowl vent being somewhat restrictive ( can be fixed by cutting it out before install ) its a great hood.

Re: COWL HOOD

Thats a nice hood and not a bad price either. I will be going steel hood instead of fiberglass. LOL I always liked steel hoods anyways but I did like the fact that the fiberglass is a bit lighter. Thank you everyone!!!

Re: COWL HOOD

Do not buy a fiberglass hood from Cincinnatti Composit! I did (didn't do research) the fit is horrible. A four inch cowl induction. You wouldn't believe how much this thing weighs.
