Door Hindge Replacement
What will i really need. Im going to buy from TDS and get the lower and upper hinge kit. I was thinking of pulling off the doors and doing it that way. Or should i invest in the tools he has for sale and try it with the door already on the car? Seems like a lot of tools to get.
Thanks,
Joey J.

Re: Door Hindge Replacement
It is soooo much easier to take the door off. Get a buddy to help. Get a floor jack, put a 2x6 across it , have your buddy hold the door, jack the jack just enough to put pressure on the door, unbolt the hinge, roll door away. Obv reverse to put it back on.

Just make sure you have a socket and ratchet or normal wrench that fit the bolts.

Oh tip, unplug the door harness from the car before you unbolt it, makes life easy

Re: Door Hindge Replacement
what about changing the pins and bushings on the hinges themselves? Taking the door off wont be a problem. Its replacing the parts themselves

You'll need a drill with successively larger bits to remove the upper pins, they are peened over (I think that's the right term, like a very large rivet) to keep them from pulling through the holes. I removed the door and used an angle grinder to remove the head of the pin, then punched it out.
