People can hate if they want, but I'll give you +1 for originality. And what he said ^. Most kits are around a grand.

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
Before this thread gets locked for bashing I thought maybe I could actually help someone looking for info.
Do a search this has come up many many times before. Here's one that actually has a kit installed https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...mbo-doors.html
and apparently this is where he got it http://www.gtfactory.jp/diablo.htm I don't believe you're going to find it much cheaper and I would highly recommend having a professional install.

Ebay usually has kits. Becareful which ones you use some don't have decent shocks. Our doors are pretty heavy. Usually it takes some cutting and welding also.

^^^ Our doors are VERY heavy.
Look into gullwings. I don't think I've ever seen those.

Gullwings would be hard since our cars don't have frames around the windows.

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
I think part of the problem was that the part of the frame where the hinges attach starts to cave in from the weight of those absurdly heavy doors.

I'm not a fan of the lambo doors on our cars either but to each his own.If the guy likes them he doesn't need to be bashed for it.After all it is his car.

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
Most of the lambo kits for our cars I've seen use 2 shocks. I've used lambo doors before on a friends Celica and they were a pain to line up and close due to the fact that they can swing both out like a standard door and up. It's a personal preference. I would recommend a lot of research and you try them first on someones car if possible.

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
Ya know, previously I'd just been going with the flow, and saying lambo doors suck.
BUT, think about it, and they actually seem *sorta* practical.
I'm not a tall guy, the seat in my TA is pretty much all the way forward, and the farther forward the seat is, the farther you have to swing the door open in order to have the same ingress and egress width between the seat and the door.
No one can deny, our long doors are a PITA in a cramped parking spot or in the garage, and it can be challenging just to get in and out!
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...mbo-doors.html
See how much room you could have? And come on, it doesn't look that bad.
(I think it was a really bad idea to cut into the inner fender substructure though)

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
gullwings can be done but you need special heavy glass like used on the hatch. since just like it, the hing would bolt right to glass. would even allow mini 1/4 windows for air like euro sports cars.

Lambo Doors Look Stupid, Are Played Out & They're Problems, Lining Them Up Eerytime You Got To Close The Door And If They're Not Lined Up Right You Can Damage The Paint And Also Break A Window. Then They F*** Up After Awhile And You Can't Even Open Your Door, You Should Just Save Your Time, Money & A Lot Of You Getting Clowned On. My Boy Had Lambo Doors On His Tahoe & They Were Nothing But Problems.

Kit on my friend's car you could still open the doors out like normal. It just had another axis that would allow the doors to rotate up.

Re: Lambo Doors? $$$
If it's what you want go for it. I actually like the look but I wouldn't want it on my car. If everyone had the same taste they would only make one color and one style of car.
