Where do I go to find a hood release cable for a 84 trans am? The parts stores say they can not get them and I didn't think I could get one at a dealer since Pontic is no more. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You might try to find one in a junkyard,or even one off of a camaro. Aren't they the same?

I'm unsure why you're looking for a new cable, but if your current one is sticking, clean and lube the exposed under hood section (as well as the latch parts) and you may be surprised.

I'm pretty sure I must have a better mastery of google than the OP. Youngs has em.

 

Mine is broke. Previous owner put hood pins on the car instead of fixing it . I sould have looked on google I guess instead of wasting your time here. When the parts store told me it was dealer only I did not try google. I guess if I had been a google master I might have though. Sorry.

There's a couple on eBay too. I'm gonna try the scrapyard before I pay $45 from youngs tho.
