Tips for rust patrol and restore
OK my car is not on a lift and the interior is coming out. I am going to do rust patrol on the floor and other common places. I know I need to weld new metal in the spare tire area and the jack points. I also know the rear wheel well has a hole and the passenger door needs some attention. I am looking for tips and tricks for anything for the interior removal and such for the people who have done it before. One thing I know I am missing is a sealer can I get something from home depot?
Tools I have or on order
18ga cold rolled sheet steel
electric shears
hand shears
angle grinder and cut off wheels
lincoln flux welder for tacking
tig welder for everything else
large socket set
rust paint (por15 or rust bullet?)
rubber hammer
regular hammer
bigger hammer
ER70S-6 Welding rod (not yet ordered)

Re: Tips for rust patrol and restore
Nothing too difficult about pulling the interior.. Just about everything except the door panels and A pillar trim is held in with screws. You'll need some larger torx bits if you plan on pulling the seat belts.
Hopefully you already own those welders that you listed, a tig welder would be a little overkill if you're just patching some underbody parts!
