Broken door latch

My driver's door won't close all the way. It looks like the latch is funky... anyone sell a new one or has anyone experienced a problem with theirs and come up with a solution?
It seems to latch closed with the door 1/2 inch from fully closed. Happened all of a sudden when the door swung closed on its own with a bit of a thump...

Re: Broken door latch

Is the latch completely open? I've seen instances where the "C" shaped part of the latch will get turned (like the door is closed and it's wrapped around the peg) - but with the door open. That make sense? Make sure the latch is open, make sure that the open part in the "C" shaped piece is open and ready to 'accept' the peg when the door is closed.

Re: Broken door latch

Yep, I made sure of that- seems it doesn't want to latch 'all the way', hence my possible need for a new one...

Re: Broken door latch

LOL!!!! Found the problem! I thought I would take the striker bolt out and confirm that the door would close without the latch being involved- it would not! So I looked around the door opening and found a screw stuck into the joint where the ground effects meets the body, The door was hitting the screw and not closing. Remove screw, close door, problem solved. I feel like a doofus though. When you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras...

In the meantime, I was put in touch with someone that sells the latches. $145 for the drivers door, $125 for the passenger, if anyone wants one.
