Re: safelite windsheild repair?

I had good exeperiance with them, their work was fine, no leaks or anything. When I was getting mine done I took out my dash pad, just incase, mine was perfect and I wanted it to stay that way, I have heard stories of them and other companies breaking dash pads on the install, so I didn't take the chance.

I have heard good and bad. It's kind of like a Maaco paint job; depends on who is actually doing the work.

Re: safelite windsheild repair?

I have a friend who works at a safelite shop and have had many of my windshields done by them. As with all major chains, there are always good and bad experiences. Most of the people who work there are "Car guys" Just tell them how much you love your car while they are putting the glass in! I can honestly say that helps!

Re: safelite windsheild repair?

I'd say they're probably above average in general -- I had them do the windshield in my 02. Only complaint I have is that they scratched the hard plastic seal that goes around the windshield.

Re: safelite windsheild repair?

They did my daily driver and didn't have the right clips, but returned another day to remedy the problem.. I would use them again...

Why did you check the rain sensing option?

I can only guess, but some cars now come with rain sensing windshield wipers. I am assuming that they need a special windshield to sense the rain.

There are windshields that have the radio antenna built in.

Re: safelite windsheild repair?

Do any of you guys carry glass replacement on your insurance? Most states provide for mandatory windshield due to the safety aspect behind it. Look into it for your state as I haven't paid for a windshield in any vehicle for over 20 years! Your insurance can't go up either because it's a state requirement.

Re: safelite windsheild repair?

got my windsheild replaced today, dude scared me though because he had three knifes in my glass trying to get the old seal out, but he also pissed me off, he kept point out EVERYTHING wrong with my car, a few wires under the hood, scratched, dashpad, paint, rims, ect i was getting alittle angry, he ever talked about the shape of my seats, carpet, and headliner!! WTF!!
