All the studs are plastic--old, brittle plastic--so if you attempt to tighten the speed nuts, you're very likely going to twist them off. I replaced my louvers with new, though they aren't cheap.

Re: tighting up hood louvers

Many folks remove the louvers, and use 5 minute epoxy to glue small bolts onto the louvers where there are broken studs, let them dry, and use nuts on the underside when reinstalling.

Re: tighting up hood louvers

normally you can find them around %360 plus shipping(too rich for me,) I used rhe plastic license plate push in fastners from a cord explorer and made the louver kind of concave where the pegs broke off and rough it up and then epoxy them on let it dry completely then use more over the whole base to seal it in and the speed (cheap tin) nuts still fit and since the fastners were a hair bigger it helped to keep them tight.better plsdtic too shouldn't ever get brittle at least no time soon.

Re: tighting up hood louvers

I use the 3M windshield adhesive. Just figure out where it's lose and squirt a dab or two in there. It sticks forever and it's not impossible to break lose if you have to.
