sub frame connectors and floor replacement
i have a very rusty 84 z 28 that i am parting out, when i get done stripping it,i was/am considering building the body into a drag car,the problem beingthe floor is fullof rust holes.my thought was to weld in some subframe connectors, and build a sheet metal floor, with only a seat and roll cage-any ideas as to if this will work?i plan on just por 15 then bondoing the quarters, the doors and fenders are easily fixable,so its just a matter of stiffening the car,may even weld the passenger door shut!

Re: sub frame connectors and floor replacement
What I did is cut out the enitre trunk area. went to summit bought a universal 4 link set of frame rails, 4 link kit etc. and made the back of the car a custom fit. I also bout and 8 point cage and tied the cage and frame rails in at a few points. (also you need the crossmember too) Then I bought Comp Engineering weld in connectors and tied those into the frame rails and floor etc. This all probably doesnt make sense but I can post pics and explain them if you want. The car is so stiff now.. its rediculous
