New User saying Hi!

Just wanted to stick my head in and wave. I found this forum this morning, and I will probably be spending quite a bit of time here over the next few months.
My son turns 16 in a couple weeks, and I bought him an '84 T/A that we'll be restoring over the next few months until he gets his license.
I have never done anything like this before, so be gentle with me when I ask noob questions. And I promise to use the search feature before asking, I just fear that in my noobness I may not frame the search strings properly until I learn the lingo.
Thanks to the owners and the inhabitants for having this place available!

Welcome Tal. Our HS girls basketball coachs name is Tal. When I saw your post, I thought it might be him, not a lot of Tal's around. Anyway, annother funny thing is me and my son are working on an 86 IROC for his first car. He will be 16 in October this year. As with you, I found this site shortly after getting the car and have used the resources here many times. Great site, enjoy and good luck with your project.

Re: New User saying Hi!

Welcome to TGO! Everything you'll ever want to know about the car (as well as the stuff you don't) is here somewhere. Search is pretty easy and works great - like you said it's a matter of finding the right terms to search - but never hesitate to just ask if you can't find.

One big help to us trying to help you - go into your profile and update so it shows what year, engine, tranny, gears, and induction system (TPI, carb, etc) - it helps us answer alot when we can just look at the sidebar and see what you have without asking everytime.

Again - welcome aboard!

Re: New User saying Hi!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and I'll update my profile as I figure out what all that stuff is (I'm not a car guy lol) One thing I do know is that somewhere along the line someone replaced the original engine with a 350 (allegedly Corvette) motor.
And now the fun begins!
The interior of the car is pretty trashed, as well as the hood, front fenders, and bumper. And the doors look good, but outside handles, and window switches are borked.
I picked up a hood, head lights, and bumper today, so I'll be starting there.
