They sell two clears. I forget which one is the better, I'll have to check my garage in the morning but. The clear isn't bad. Out of a 1.4mm tip it shoots evenly. A wetsand later and you have a real nice job.

This is after drying, before wet sanding. The paint is also made by hawthorne.
It's dirt cheap and shoots as good as the PPG I used to buy at the local 'screw ya over a barrel' paint supply for twice as much.

Hey for $74 bucks thats a steal for a good clear how hard is it to buff after it has been wet sanded and what grit paper did you finish with

Re: Painting question

A couple local counties Air Resources Boards have banned all the old paints and only allow the use of water base.
So now with all the shops that the paint stores can't sell anything else to and the use of HVLP spray guns using less paint I think they jack up the prices to make up for the losses!

Has anyone used the paint that Summit sells? Know what brand it is? I have been curious to try it. Its usually like around $100 for a gallon of paint and hardener to do a single stage.

Re: Painting question

I would want no part of that as well.
Maybe one day if I don't find out for sure I'll get some and let you all know (provided its in at least small print on the label)

Re: Painting question

hey, i paint a lot of cars, also air brush work and adding base coat to the clear wont help! it could cause your clear to seperate, i have seen it happen, 5 good coats of clear and a good wet sanding will make it look really deep. good luck.
