1988 Pontiac Firebird Hood Adjustment
A previous owner of my 88 Firebird thought it would be cool to put a differnent hood on the car. However, they did not pick the right size of hood. It did no fit right and among other things was held down by two pins drilled through the hood. So, I went to the junkyard and found a Firebird hood that fits it. It fits perfectly but I need to adjust the new hood. Can anyone advise me on how to go about doing this? Thanks.

All our hood adjust the same way.
The 2 mounting bolts on the hinges, the 2 rubber snubbers up front and the latch.
What hood did he put on that doesn't fit?
You got any pics of both hoods & where the "new" one isn't fitting?

the old hood was the hood with the cowl induction. A previous owner installed it, drilled the holes in the hood in the wrong place fr the posts and it didn't shut correctly so it was bent and had about a 1 inch gap and stuck up about an inch above the lights in front.
The new hood fits well but the gap on the passengers ide is twice as wide as the drivers side so it won't latch. It is like I need to shift the entire hood towards the passenger side about 3/8 of an inch.
I do not have pictures but I could take some if it will help.

Make sure latch isn't latched. You need to get it to latch to adjust any of it or take the latch out till the hood lines up well without the latch. If the entire hood needs to move over without latch then push it over with it open. The hinge bolts mostly set the length.
